Symbology of Orixá Dances

Allow yourself to discover and experience how sacred symbology inspires the body to dance and express itself through traditional rhythms, archetypes and stories of the Orixás and the ancestral memory of the African-Brazilian religion, Candomblé. We will dive into a channel of inspiration to experience the archetypal energies that we all have innate access to, and how they are experienced in relationship to the elements of nature – Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. This class will use gestures and traditional symbols of the Orixa dances for inspiration and discovery of archetypal expression.

Live drumming will accompany class. Donations for drummers are welcome.
