Bahia in Motion invites you to join us on our Journey to Bahia, Brazil
November 9th-24th, 2013

Our preparations for our Journey to Brazil 2013 are humming! If you're wondering when and where your next adventure may be, why not make it Bahia, Brazil?! This is an exciting time to visit Brazil as the country prepares for the World Cup in 2014, and the 2016 Olympics. In Salvador, we will explore the beauty of the city's rich African history. You'll have a chance to see the historic district, a world-renowed UNESCO site. You'll also have the chance to take music, dance and Capoeira classes. Salvador lies in the Bay of All Saints. Beautiful city beaches will welcome you with it's warm ocean waters and calming rhythm. This year a day trip to Cachoeira is included, the area where Samba was born. Cachoeira is a tranquil town that has deep roots in the traditions of Condomble, one of the foundations of Afro-Brazilian culture.

From there we will go to the coast of Bahia where a taste of paradise awaits (plus enough Vitamin D to last you the rest of the year!). Here you will have a chance to slow down and experience Bahian pace of life: Slow, simple and brimming with color, ocean delicacies, tropical fruits and songs of nature.

"The things I loved the most about our September trip was how diverse the places and activities were. I feel like our group was given such a broad exposure to so much more of Bahia than just the usual "tourist" route. I loved how everyplace we turned, a Bahian would be greeting us with open arms and a big smile, because we were guests with Bahia in Motion. Our Samba de Roda on the beach in Boipeba at sunset was like a dream...My favorite part was Salvador and the dancing! I felt challenged to the MAX, but I loved how quickly our group was integrated into the life at the Escola. By the time we took our last class..I felt like we were gaining acceptance by the other students. It was such a great feeling!" -Sherry H.

"I've traveled to many wonderful places around the world. Bahia in Motion's trip to Bahia was definitely one of my favorites! The people, the music, the food, the beaches, the architecture, were all wonderful. I'd go again in a heartbeat. As an independent traveler, I was a little leary of going on an organized trip, but it turned out to be a blessing. Aileen and Daniel organized everything so well - you didn't have to think about anything, just enjoy. Since Daniel is a native of Bahia, and Aileen lived there extensively, you get a real insider's view of things; much better than just being a tourist." -Lisa P.

"Traveling with these guys had a very 'insider' feel to it. Aside from all the great sights and events they organized I also got to experience Brazil in a very intimate and personal way. This to me is what really stands out from my trip with Daniel and Aileen. I got an inside view of the culture and the people. Even while stretching to take in all the new and diverse experiences I felt surprisingly welcome and at home. The opportunity to interact with the people there and make new friends was a highlight for me (without even mentioning all the incredible music, food, dancing, sights and sounds). I would love to go back to each place we visited and I do plan to travel with them again." -Kevin C.
